Pasta with Instant Meat Sauce
Welcome to WESTERN COOKING IN PLAIN ENGLISH VIDEOS! In this video I've shown how to make pasta with instant meat sauce using only the following required/optional ingredients and pieces of equipment:
Ingredients :
(for 4 servings) 1 Pound of Pasta 1 Teaspoon Salt Olive (or any cooking) Oil 1 Pound Ground Meat or Fresh Sausage 24 Ounce Jar of Tomato Sauce
Optional Ingredients :
1 Teaspoon Italian Seasoning Red Wine (to taste) Balsamic (or any) Vinegar Roasted Red Peppers Sun Dried Tomatoes Grated Parmesan Cheese
Equipment :
2 Medium Sized Pots (one for pasta, one for sauce) Big Spoon Colander Kitchen Timer Sharp Knife & Cutting Board (only if cutting sun dried tomatoes or roasted red peppers) Paper Towels (only if using sun dried tomatoes packaged in oil) Teaspoon (only if measuring salt to add to water to cook pasta)
1. Fill a medium sized pot 2/3's full with cold tap water. Put the pot on the stove and warm it over HIGH heat.
2. Put the other pot (you'll use to cook the sauce) on the stove and warm it over MEDIUM heat. 3. If you're using sun dried tomatoes, use paper towels to remove the excess oil and then cut them into smaller pieces with a sharp knife. 4. If you're using roasted red peppers, chop them into smaller pieces. 5. To check the sauce pot for the right cooking temperature, wet your fingers with tap water and flick the water into the pot. The water should sizzle and quickly evaporate. Pour enough olive (or any cooking) oil into the pot to coat the pot bottom evenly, and add the meat. Use a large spoon to break the meat into smaller pieces for easier cooking. 6. As soon as the water for the pasta comes to a full raging boil, add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 pound of pasta. Set a cooking timer for 1 minute less than required cooking time printed on the pasta package. Make sure to stir the pasta into the water to ensure even cooking. Also, be sure to stir the pasta every few minutes to keep the pasta from sticking to the pot bottom. 7. Cook the meat until it is evenly browned without any visible pink or red. Then add about 1 teaspoon of Italian Seasoning and a good shot of red wine if you're using either of these optional ingredients. 8. Add a full 24 ounce jar of pasta sauce and your choice of the following optional ingredients: drained & chopped sun dried tomatoes, chopped roasted red peppers and/or a shot of balsamic (or any) vinegar. 9. Stir both the pasta and sauce. Taste the sauce and make any flavor adjustments as needed. 10. Place the colander in the sink. When the cooking timer sounds, pour and drain the cooked pasta in the colander. 11. Scoop the cooked pasta into a bowl or onto a plate. Cover with meat sauce and either serve it as is or topped with grated Parmesan cheese (optional) to taste.
