Quick & Easy Pan Cooked Quesadillas
Welcome to COOKING IN PLAIN ENGLISH VIDEOS! In this video I've shown how to make quick & easy pan cooked quesadillas that only require the following ingredients and pieces of equipment:
Ingredients :
2 Tortillas Sliced or Grated Cheese (cheddar is traditional for quesadillas, but any cheese will work) Cooking Spray (can be substituted with cooking oil and paper towel)
Optional Ingredients :
Guacamole (see Guacamole: Fresh & Easy on the menu page for easy video directions) Sour Cream Salsa
Equipment :
Large Frying Pan Spatula Sharp Knife Cutting Board
1. Let the frying pan warm on the stove over LOW-MEDIUM heat.
2. To check the frying pan for the proper cooking temperature, wet your fingers with tap water, then flick the water into the pan. The water should sizzle and slowly evaporate. 3. Either spray the warm pan with a thin coating of cooking spray, or pour a small shot of cooking oil in the pan and spread it evenly with a wad of paper towels. 4. Put one tortilla in the warm pan, add an even layer of sliced or grated cheese and top with the second tortilla. 5. Cook until the underside of the bottom tortilla just starts to brown. Slide the spatula under the tortilla and loosen it from the pan bottom and then turn the quesadilla to cook the other side. 6. Cook again until the cheese in the middle has melted and the underside of the bottom tortilla is also lightly browned. 7. Remove the quesadilla from the pan and cut it into four equal pieces. 8. Either serve warm as is or top with your choice or combination of guacamole, sour cream and/or salsa. 9. To make clean up as easy as possible, let the pan cool for a few minutes. Then add tap water and a shot of dish detergent. 10. Let the pan sit until it is cool enough to touch. Then use a dish brush and sponge to clean the pan surface. Rinse, and the pan should be clean.
